Your Data, Wherever It Needs to Go
Purpose-built interoperability scaffolding that moves clinical and operational data between Epic, other EHRs, and the systems you actually run your organization on.
Healthcare data lives in silos, and the cost of moving it lands on your staff. Koru engineers custom interoperability solutions that import, transform, and deliver data from major EHR environments including Epic, using the pathways that fit your infrastructure: FHIR R4 APIs, HL7v2 feeds, C-CDA exchange, and structured database extracts. Every build is documented, tested, and delivered with instructional content so your team owns the knowledge along with the software.
What We Build
Five building blocks that carry your data from source system to the place it needs to land.
Epic data import scaffolding
Demographics, encounters, clinical documents, and operational data, mapped and moving.
Migrations and sync pipelines
One-time migrations and ongoing synchronization that keep your systems in step.
Custom API integrations
Connect EHRs, clearinghouses, state registries, HRIS, and accounting systems.
FHIR R4 and C-CDA layers
Interoperability layers built to ONC certification-ready standards.
HIPAA-compliant architecture
Encryption, audit trails, and role-based access on every build.
See it working first.
We build a functioning demonstration of your integration in seven days, at no cost, running against sandbox data. You watch your import work before you commit to full development. From there, every engagement runs on a defined milestone schedule with complete documentation, a formal testing and acceptance window, and ongoing hosting and support after go-live.
Request your demo buildSandbox data, no cost, no obligation. The seven-day window applies to the demonstration build.
The Conversion Pathways
We work at every layer, from standards-based APIs at the top to the database architectures these systems are built on. We select the pathway that fits your infrastructure rather than forcing one approach.
FHIR R4 APIs
Resource-scoped exchange across Patient, Encounter, DocumentReference, and Observation, aligned to USCDI data classes. The modern default for application-to-application data movement, including Epic FHIR endpoints.
HL7v2 interface feeds
Real-time ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU, and DFT messaging between your EHR, clearinghouses, and ancillary systems. The workhorse that most practices already run on.
C-CDA exchange
Structured clinical summaries for query-based exchange and Direct messaging, the document standard beneath every transition of care.
TEFCA and QHIN pathways
Nationwide query-based exchange under the Common Agreement. We build toward participation so your organization can reach records well beyond point-to-point interfaces.
Database-level extraction
For the deep cases we work at the source: Epic Chronicles on the InterSystems IRIS (Caché) MUMPS platform, its Clarity SQL warehouse, and the Caboodle columnar layer, plus legacy migrations and MUMPS-to-relational translation.
Epic is referenced here as a factual integration capability. Koru is an independent solutions provider and is not affiliated with, certified by, or endorsed by Epic Systems Corporation.
How the Engagement Runs
A demo-first path from proof to production, documented at every stage.
Seven-day demo build
A functioning demonstration of your integration, running against sandbox data, at no cost. You watch your import work before you commit.
Milestone schedule
Defined milestones with complete documentation at each stage, so your team owns the knowledge along with the software.
Testing and acceptance
A formal testing and acceptance window before anything reaches production.
Hosting and support
Ongoing hosting and support after go-live, so the pipeline keeps running.
Tell us what needs to move and where it needs to land.
We will show you it working within a week. Share your source system and destination, and we will build a functioning demonstration against sandbox data at no cost.
No cost, no obligation. We respond within one business day.
Interoperability Questions
Which EHRs can you move data between?
We build against major EHR environments including Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), athenahealth, NextGen, Veradigm, MEDITECH, and eClinicalWorks, using FHIR R4, HL7v2, C-CDA, or direct database extracts depending on your infrastructure.
How does the seven-day demo work?
You tell us what needs to move and where it needs to land. Within seven days we build a working demonstration against sandbox data at no cost, so you see your import running before any full development begins. The seven-day window applies to the demonstration build only.
What standards and pathways do you support?
FHIR R4 APIs, HL7v2 interface feeds, C-CDA document exchange, TEFCA and QHIN query-based exchange, and database-level extraction. We select the pathway that fits your systems rather than forcing one approach.
Is the architecture compliant?
Every build ships with HIPAA-compliant architecture, encryption, audit trails, and role-based access, and our interoperability layers are built to ONC certification-ready standards.
Move your data with confidence.
